Doc said I can stitch...

If I can with this...

At least stitching isn't likely the cause.  I have Ulner Nerve Entrapment on my non-dominant side which he said is probably caused by inflammation and swelling from my Psoriatic Arthritis.  This brace makes typing hard but at least I know I can get a lap stand and keep stitching.  I can't stand seeing my projects and not being able to work on them.

Stitching on hold

I'm having a lot of pain in my left arm, mainly my wrist, elbow, and shoulder.  It seems like a repetitive type of injury but it is strange because it is my non-dominate side.  I've been cross stitching a lot every day for several weeks.  I work with just my right hand but my left hand holds my hoop.  I am not sure what caused this pain but it started when I was cross stitching and it has steadily gotten worse.  Now I can hardly stand to move my arm and it is nearly impossible to sleep.  I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor but for now I'm trying to keep it straight.  That makes it impossible to stitch since I don't have a lap stand.  I'll have to order one because I'm already going crazy not being able to stitch.

I guess I'll just watch a ton of Flosstube for now..... and buy patterns and stuff.

Thinking about a new start

I've been thinking about starting something new that would be a bit more challenging.  I have a chart that doesn't have regular cross stitches but instead has a lot of specialty stitches.  I bought all the materials for it, including the first piece of fabric I've bought that wasn't Aida.  It is 28 ct evenweave in Meadow View.  It's hard to see in this picture but the top is sky blue with white clouds and it fades to green.  I bought this from allaboutcrossstitch on etsy.  I whip-stitched the edges and everything is ready to go now.  I have been having a bad Fibromyalgia flare up so I'm waiting to feel better.

Progress Report and Peacock & Fig Giveaway

I haven't been able to stitch as much lately because I've been getting a lot of headaches and other wonderful fun stuff.  I'm allergic to fall and it is coming in quick.  I haven't seen any yellow leaves yet but we have fungi in our yard.  I usually get migraines in the fall but so far they haven't been actual migraines so I'm counting my blessings.  I love the fall so it is hard to be too down.

I can share the progress of my Old Diver Helmet from Luna River Crafts on Etsy.  It's getting there.

Also, Peacock & Fig is having another pattern giveaway!  Everyone should enter!

New Start

I had something else I really wanted to start but I was waiting for supplies.  I just couldn't wait so I started this one.  I haven't been feeling well and I've been staying in bed a lot and I need something easier to stitch and easier to carry around.  Max's Moon is on black aida and has a ton of colors so I have to sit at the table with my magnifier Ott lamp.  This pattern, called Old Diving Helmet by Luna River Crafts on Etsy, only has 7 colors.  It's pretty much the same size as the Vintage Octopus.  The picture of the pattern image below is dark but I had to take a picture of my computer screen since I only printed the pattern pages.

My little bit of progress so far

I have a finish!

I finished the Vintage Octopus from Luna River Crafts (lunarivercrafts) on Etsy on Friday Aug 3, 2018.  I tried to find another color for the super pale shading area but nothing I tried looked right so I stuck with what the pattern called for.  My oldest son didn't like that I added the text.  He said if I was going to add text I should have made it his name, "Like Larry," he said.  I wanted to add it because I'm going to do the two others in the series.  These are going to go in my stormy/ship themed bathroom.
